What is this about?
This banner represents the essence of the two holy places in Islam: Makkah (Kaaba) and Madina (the Prophets' mosque). The calligraphy on top is part of a verse from the holy Quran: God is the light of the heavens and the earth... and the colored people are shown to represent the pilgrims. The gold leaf banner says the declaration of faith: There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammed is His messenger.
